Al-Shifā bi Taʿrīf Ḥuqūq al-Muṣṭafā ‘The Healing’ by Qāḍī ʿIyād

This particular manuscript of al-Shifā bi Taʿrīf Ḥuqūq al-Muṣṭafā is very special, as it was the personal edition of the Algerian Prince Amir Abdel Kader al Jazairi (1808–1883CE).

Qāḍī ʿIyād’s al-Shifā bi Taʿrīf Ḥuqūq al-Muṣṭafā (The Healing Through the Realisation of the Rights of the Chosen One (p.b.u.h.)) is considered to be amongst the most important books which have appeared within the Islamic community concerning the rights of the noble prophetic standing. Such a topic was elucidated through means of inference from the Quranic dicta, the prophetic tradition, the sayings of scholars throughout the ages, as well as the author’s own extrapolations. This work was to become widespread, with the scholars granting it a great deal of attention, adding to it beneficial commentaries and glosses. Many were to benefit from it, from the time of the author to our current day. Such widespread dissemination is due to its relation to the presence of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) and the sincerity of its author and his obliteration of self in the love of the noble standing.
